Finding my Way Through my First Month

I was born Sunday, December 19th at 6:16pm. My first month has been the best thus far. :) On the day I was born, it was snowing outside. Unfortunately, I was only allowed to view it through the window. After my birth many people came to visit me, so many that it is impossible for me to list all of them. Two days later I was released from the hospital and given my first glimpse of the world outdoors. I was able to go home and begin my new life.

The night I arrived at my new home, I was greeted by my Grandma Mirsada, Grandpa Fico, and Uncle Adnan. This was the start of my new life. From the beginning, my schedule has been pretty basic: sleep, eat, fight to stay awake and sleep some more. Not much variety; I don't want to work the parents too hard. As of now, I share a bedroom with my mommy and daddy. My bed and walls are decorated with Baby Looney Toons, but I don't see them very much because I like to snuggle in my parents' bed more often. For some reason their bed just seems more comfortable, but I have a strange feeling I will get kicked out very soon. Things were pretty hectic for the first couple of weeks. It took mommy a long time to get used to her new life. It was a big change. Fortunately, Grandma and Great Grandma were there to help her out. From the time of my arrival and till today, I am still getting visitors and they all bring such great gifts. What a great life!

By the end of the month, I have learned to not cry as much because there is someone near to take care of my needs, or at least I hope so. However, being left alone in the room is not my favorite thing. Car rides are very enjoyable. I have already been to South Carolina. I went with my Pawpaw Ronnie and my mommy. I didn't feel the need to disturb them so I slept the whole way there and back. I've had a couple of visits to the doctors and have been out of the house to eat at different restaurants. Now I am able to hold my head up for a short period of time. I love to be held so I can see what is going on around me. Recently I have discovered my fingers. I really like sucking on my thumbs when there is not a bottle in the way. My mommy says the funniest thing I do each time before crying is cough twice. I guess you can consider that a warning so they can get my bottle prepared on time.

My First Month First Things
first smile: On February 02 I gave my mommy some big smiles and goos. We were in Pawpaw Ronnie's office and everyone said how good looking I was. I went into the room with Mommy and Pawpaw and she was talking to me. I started smiling a lot. She was making some really funny noises and kept me entertained.

outing as a family: My daddy, mommy and I went to eat out at Chili's February 02. We were going there so mom could show me off to her old co-workers. Daddy was a little nervous to be left alone with me incase I started crying too much and scared away the other people who were the eating. I proved him wrong. I let my parents have conversations, but once the food came out I knew what my job called for. Yep, I cried. Overall, it was a good time.

stroller ride: February 18 I went outside in the stroller with Mommy. I was really looking forward to seeing what the outside world was like. It was a little challenging trying to get up and down the driveway because it's so steep. My mom had to push me backwards so that I wouldn't fall out. Uncle Adnan and Daddy came to see me out. They were just standing around me taking all these pictures. I tried to make them happy by giving them all kinds of smiles and good poses. The weather was finally nice. I smiled at my mom and couldn't wait for her to start walking. It was very sunny, but still cold enough to be bundled up. It was around 50 degrees. We walked for nearly 10 minutes and then I declared to be taken inside. I've seen the outside world and I was anxious to get back out there and do it all over again. I enjoyed my first day riding in my stroller.

conclusion: Mommy and Daddy are doing a good job of taking care of me and tending to my needs. Sometimes I like to challenge them at night by making them stay awake for house at a time. Eventually they believe that will change, but it's all up for me to decide. Overall, my life has been pleasant. Mommy and Daddy did a good job!!
