T.V. Temptations in my Third Month
Awareness is the best word to describe me. I am very alert of what is going on around me. When someone is talking I pick them out in the room and watch their facial expressions. I am a huge fan of television and computers. Mom doesn't like that though. She turns the
TV off or turns my back towards it. When I hear the noises coming from it, I do everything I can to set eyes on it. When I am downstairs with Daddy, he holds me while working on the computer. It is enjoyable just to sit back and watch all the action on the screen.
I am starting to scare everyone. I force them to give me their undivided attention as to where I cannot be left alone. I am on the verge of rolling over from my back to my stomach; if only I could throw that leg over one good time. So there is always a pair of eyes staring at me when I'm on the couch or in my parents' bed. I am also moving around in my crib. If you put me in one spot to go to sleep, when I wake up I'm somewhere else. I go from one side of the bed to the other. Mom has found me under my clothes, between the legs of my huge stuffed dog and with my face against the padding around my crib.
My Third Month First Things
March 20:
I was lying in bed with Daddy and Mommy when Mom came in with some chocolate. I wasn't real clear on what was happening, and then she stuck a big piece of it in my mouth. It was good to suck on for a few seconds, but the flavor was not that satisfying. That was my first taste of chocolate.
March 22:
In the morning Mommy had to go run some errands, so Uncle Adnan was watching me for a few minutes. I was sitting in the rocking chair all by myself while he was talking to me. I thought he was so funny and kept laughing out loud at him. Then he would laugh, so I would laugh louder. Later when Mom came back, I started laughing with her. She went downstairs to get Daddy and he seen me. Then...they broke out the video camera. As soon as I seen it heading in my direction, my laughs soon faded into tears. My smile turned upside down to a frown.
March 24:
Daddy, Mommy and I left at 3:30 to head to Granny's house. I had never been there before and was extremely excited to meet more of my family. I sat in the back seat for six whole hours. We made one stop so that I could eat and get a clean diaper. I slept the rest of the time. When we reached our destination, there were many new faces popping up over me. Miranda opened the door then the others followed: Granny, Pawpaw, Lilly, Uncle Gerald, Aunt Amanda, Uncle Caylon and Aunt Kristen. I really wanted to give a good first impression. For two weeks I had an earache and Mommy didn't realize it, so that night I reached the peak with it. There was screaming all night and not many of us slept very well.
March 25:
I went to the Forest General Hospital. It was my first actual visit to a hospital. Mom, Dad and Uncle Gerald took me Friday morning so I could get some medicine for my earache. I was not a happy baby in the waiting room. The nurse took 20 minutes to take down all my information. We were there for a few hours. It took a few days for the medicine to kick in and I was almost back to my usual self, almost.
